IMPACT’s Centre for Research brings together experts from the private and public sector to collaborate with members of the academic and research communities to form a comprehensive cybersecurity research network. The aim of this research network is to analyse various issues and concerns faced by the cybersecurity community and to collaborate to develop potential solutions. The Centre for Research is based at IMPACT’s state-of-the-art Global HQ in Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

IMPACT’s Centre for Research is currently coordinating three main areas with the aim of expanding into exciting, new and ground-breaking fields in the future:

Data mining and threat research
Botnet research
IMPACT Research Online Network (IRON)

Members of IMPACT’s Centre for Research can leverage IMPACT’s cutting-edge research facilities, including specialised ICT laboratories, specialised equipment, a resource centre and other tools to escalate research in areas of cybersecurity. Individual members of IMPACT’s Centre for Research will also have access to IRON.

IMPACT Research Online Network (IRON)
IRON is an exclusive online collaborative forum designed to bring together the academic community together with cybersecurity experts from the public and private sectors – their inclusion in the network is by invitation only. Registered users can leverage IRON to discuss and collaborate on the latest developments; pressing issues affecting cybersecurity; and develop effective tools and solutions.

Articles, discussion papers and surveys can also be posted online to be shared among this IRON’s participants. Participants will also get first-hand exclusive news related to cybersecurity and cyber threats which is made exclusive to IRON, enhancing the platform a one-stop centre for information on cybersecurity. This aims to forge closer ties between the academia and the public and private sector.
