IPv6 Essentials Security Training, IMPACT Global HQ, 26th May 2010
IMPACT and SANS conducted a one day IPv6 Essentials Security Training course at IMPACT Global HQ, Cyberjaya on the 26th May 2010. This course was attended by 70 participants from the telecommunications industry, regulatory bodies and the IPv6 Working Group under Malaysian Technical Standards Forum Berhad (MTSFB). The training was conducted by Dr. Johannes Ullrich, the Chief Research Officer for The SANS Institute, who is also responsible for The SANS Internet Storm Center. This course introduced the concepts of IPv6, techniques for securing and defending networks from abuse. This event was co-sponsored by IMPACT, SANS and MTSFB. |

Cybersecurity workshop for West Africa countries, 17th to 21st May, 2010
A cybersecurity workshop was conducted for public sector cybersecurity professionals, from countries in the West African region. The five day workshop was conducted in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, and was attended by representatives from Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Mali and Senegal. |

Royal Malaysia Police visited IMPACT, 12th May 2010
IMPACT welcomed the Royal Malaysia Police team to its global headquarters on the 12th May 2010. The Royal Malaysia Police was led by Senior Assistant Commissioner II Dato’ Lim Char Boo, who heads of the Cyber Crime and Multimedia Division. The objective of their visit was to explore possible collaboration areas with IMPACT. |

Network Forensics Training: Understanding and Mitigating Malicious Internet Activity, IMPACT Global HQ, 3rd - 7th May 2010
The training was conducted by Ryan Connolly at IMPACT Global HQ from 3rd - 7th May 2010. This five (5) days course enabled participants to gain real world knowledge and skills to analyse network traffic, improve network security and reliability, and protect networks from malicious and criminal attacks. This course was attended by participants from National Telecom, Cooperation of Sudan, BruCERT of Brunei, Sri Lanka CERT, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and Malaysian partner Universities. |

IMPACT-Trend Micro MoA Signing To Further Enhance Collaboration, 7th May 2010, Ha Long Bay, Vietnam
IMPACT and Trend Micro signed an MoA to further strengthen its collaboration to provide cybersecurity services to IMPACT’s 191 partner countries. IMPACT, represented by its Chairman, Datuk Mohd Noor Amin signed the MoA with Trend Micro’s Chief Technology Officer, Raimund Genes. This ceremony took place at Ha Long Bay, Vietnam during Trend Micro’s South East Asia Security Conference. Also present was IMPACT’s Director for Training, Skills Development & Outreach, Mr. Philip Victor and Trend Micro’s Global Chief Development Officer, Mr. Oscar Chang. |
